The Three Degrees

Wenn der Name  THE THREE DEGREES erwähnt wird, denkt man sofort an ihren berühmtesten Titel „WHEN WILL I SEE YOU AGAIN“.
Dieser internationale Hit war Nummer Eins in den USA, England und Japan und wird auch heute noch im Radio und in den Clubs gespielt.
Sie gehören z.B. zu den bevorzugten Künstlern der englischen Königs Familie, schrieben Filmmusik Geschichte und sind sehr Stolz auf einen Eintrag im Guinnessbuch der Rekorde als „langjährigste weibliche aktive Formation im Musikgeschäft”.

THE THREE DEGREES sind Helen Scott-Leggins, Valerie Christie (beide haben die Gruppe im Jahre 1966 gegründet) und Cynthia Garrison.
Den Durchbruch hatte das Trio als sie einen Vertrag bei der CBS unterschrieben. Die Hitlawine setzte sich fortan in Gang. Eine grosse Chance bot sich im Jahre 1974. In dem Film „FRENCH CONNECTION“ spielten sie sich selbst in einer Kabarettszene und sangen ihren Erfolgstitel „EVERYBODY GET’S TO GO TO THE MOON“. Wie wir alle wissen wurde dieser Film mit Gene Hackman in der Hauptrolle ein Welterfolg.
Um ihre Fans in Europa kennenzulernen, kam das Trio nach London. Valerie meinte: “Der wohl aufregendste Moment in meinem Leben war für mich, dass wir anlässlich der Hochzeit von Prinz Charles und Lady Diana für das Paar und seine Gäste singen durften”.
Die Entwicklung der Gruppe hat nie stillgestanden und ihre Musik hält immer Schritt mit dem Geschmack der Zeit, ohne jedoch ihre Wurzeln zu verlieren.

THE THREE DEGREES, well known for their soulful voices, beautiful gowns, and fabulous stage shows. They are known all around the world for songs like ‘ When Will I see you again’ , ‘ Take good care of yourself’ . They have been continuously touring for more than 30 years and still touring to this day.
When you hear the name, The Three Degrees, you immediately think of their most famous song,  "When Will I See You Again", and the vision of three beautiful ebony women, perfectly co-ordinated in both their dance routines and their vocal harmonies.
True, "When Will I See You Again" was a major hit record throughout the world, topping the chart in the U.S.A., the U.K, Japan and most European countries. More than two decades on, the threesome have retained all three of their major qualities -- their beauty, their sparkling choreography and their precise vocal qualities. And, in between, they have amassed an impressive list of hit records.
That alone would be enough for many other groups, but there is more to this trio than that. For example: command performances for the Royal Family (they have been Prince Charles’ favorite vocal group, and they were among the few from America to be invited to the wedding of Charles and Diana), subsequent international fame, movie credits, and the Guiness Book of World Records (the record for the longest running female trio!).
The Three Degrees is comprised ofHelen Scott-Leggins, Valerie Holiday, and Cynthia Garrison.
Helen and Valerie, who are founding members of the group since its inception in 1966, met as teenage singers and embarked on the first of many national tours. The trio worked extensively, covering every region in America from New York’s Copacabana to all the major rooms in Las Vegas. They frequently tour Japan and Europe.
