Double You

Das DOUBLE YOU Abenteuer begann 1991 als William Narraine alias DOUBLE YOU anfing mit seinen Freunden Franco Amato und Andrea De Antoni Demos zu schreiben und produzieren. Zur gleichen Zeit traf sich DOUBLE YOU mit dem Produzenten Roberto Zanette und dieses Treffen begründete den Start einer erfolgreichen Karriere. Im Dezember des selben Jahres wurde „PLEASE DON’T GO“, im Original von Harry Casey dem Originalkomponisten und Sänger besser bekannt als „KC“, aufgenommen. Dieses Lied wurde im Januar 1992 veröffentlicht und wurde sofort ein Hit. DOUBLE YOU tourte überall durch Europa und war Gast in vielen TV Shows in der ganzen Welt. DOUBLE YOU war das Phänomen der Welt Dance Szene mit mehr als 5 Millionen verkaufte Platten. Für „PLEASE DON’T GO“ bekam DOUBLE YOU viele Gold und Platin Auszeichnungen in Deutschland, Frankreich, Spanien, Benelux. Österreich, Griechenland, Türkei, Japan, Ost Europa und in ganz Latein Amerikas (kein land war ausgeschlossen) und in vielen Staaten Afrikas und Asiens.

Selbst in der U.S.A. wurde „PLEASE DON’T GO“ ein riesigen Hit den schließlich war der Titel das meist getanzte Lied aus 1992. Die zweite Single „WE ALL NEED LOVE“ bestätigte den weltweiten Erfolg von DOUBLE YOU. Dieses Lied wurde aufgenommen während seiner Europa Tour im Juni 1992. Nach diesem Erfolg veröffentlichte DOUBLE YOU sein erstes Album aus dem der Titel „WHO IS FOOLING WHO“ als dritte Single im September ausgekoppelt wurde und damit ein ungemein erfolgreiches Jahr für ihn zu Ende ging. Harry Casey „KC“ freute sich sehr über den späten Erfolg seines Titels und „WHO (Let’s Make It Christmas)” ist das gelungene Resultat einer gemeinsamen Interpretation.

1994 nahm DOUBLE YOU sein zweites Album auf. Wieder wurden mehrere Hits aus diesem Album, wie „PART TIME LOVER“, von großem Erfolg gekrönt. DOUBLE YOU machte viele Shows in Frankreich und Deutschland in diesem Jahr. 1995 führte ihn eine Tournee durch die U.S.A. und Süd Amerika. Sein zweites Album brachte ihm eine Platin-Schallplatte aus Süd America und Süd Afrika ein. DOUBLE YOU wurde auch in Ländern wie Australien und Israel durch den erfolg seiner Single „DANCING WITH AN ANGEL“ zum Superstar.

The group’s story started in 1985, when William Naraine (singer), Franco Amato (musician) and Andrea de Antoni (DJ) began their artistic collaboration.
In 1991 the boys met producer Roberto Zanetti. They recorded the song Please Don’t Go in 1992 and it was an instant hit. Double You began touring Europe and appeared in many TV shows around the world. They became the phenomenon of the world dance scene. With more than 3 million copies sold, Please Don’t Go earned many gold and platinum records in such countries as Germany, France, the Netherlands, Spain, Belgium, Switzerland, Austria, Greece, Turkey, East-Europe, the whole of Latin America (no country excluded) and many states of Africa and Asia. The record also sold in North America (top 10 maxi sales), in Israel (no.12), and in the UK (no.2 on the Cool Cuts Chart). Please Don’t Go was the most danced song in 1992.
We All Need Love was recorded in 1992, during a European tour. It reached the top of all the world charts (no.2 in Israel). Then the first album followed: We All Need Love, which put together such songs as: Who’s Fooling Who the third single - released in 1992 closing a year of successes it reached no.12 in Israel. Why (Let’s Make It Christmas): Double You interpreted this song together with the original composer and singer of Please Don’t Go: Harry Casey, professionally known as "KC. Looking At My Girl: It was a great success in the whole of Latin America, particularly in Brazil, where it stayed at the top of all the charts for 3 consecutive months. Other songs, collected on the album are: Drive, Walking On The Chinese Wall, You Are My World, Going Back, With Or Without You.
1993, The second album Blue Album. These singles followed: Missing You had success in Germany, the Netherlands, Italy and Latin America. Part Time Lover was a great success all over Europe, particularly in France where the group appeared in the most important European show for pop-dance music: Dance Machine-Bercy, many well known groups were also present and in Germany, where Double You participated in all the most important shows. It reached no.1 in Israel, being their biggest hit there to date. Heart of Glass met with outstanding success in Spain and in eastern Europe. Run to Me a big hit in the Netherlands, Spain and the USA. They then started their first tour of north America. They performed in Miami, Daytona, Orlando and other towns along the east coast.
The album sold more than 300,000 copies in Brazil earning a platinum record and, in fact, the group performed in the greatest theatres and concert-halls in Brazil, where many famous artists performed The tour was an unprecedented success. A real Double You mania was born.
1995 a new single Dancing With An Angel came out. The group had added the voice of the singer Sandra chambers. In Italy the success was overwhelming. Dancing With An Angel was the hit of summer 1995, also a great success in Switzerland, Australia, Israel and Latin America, too. A long Italian tour began, lasting eight months. In the meantime, Because I’m Loving You was released in many versions, and was a big hit in Spain, Italy, Israel (no.19), and Brazil and one of the most aired on European radios.
1996, Andrea de Antoni left the group. Double You was in great demand in Brazil, so the new tour started. The group dedicated the album Forever to all their Brazilian fans. This new album was produced 50% in Italy and 50% in Brazil, selling 150,000 copies. In three months, it was awarded a gold record. William Naraine also took part in several DWA projects: Data Drama, Eclipse, Mission, Funkelectra, Infinity feat Sense, Kaas, Pacific, Space Tribe, Time Machine, Toro, Willy Morales.
1997: After two years rest and spending time in the studio to create new songs for their next album, the new single is entitled Somebody.
1999: a new single was released, called Desperado.
2000: Double You released a track called Music (Is The Answer). It was followed by a 2001 remix of the hit Please Don't Go.
2002: Double You is back! They released a single entitled Dance Anymore.
